A true inspiration!
I experienced a series of emotions while reading this book. At one moment I found myself laughing and the next, crying. I expecially found the stories of what inspired each poem insightful. I've earmarked many favorites and each time I go back and reread them, new meaning is found in them each time. This book is a must have and worth sharing with the ones you love!

Colorado's Best Wildflower Hikes: The High Country
Published in Paperback by Westcliffe Pub (May, 1999)
Authors: Pamela D. Irwin and David Harlan Irwin
Average review score:

Excellent hiking and wildflower resource
As a botanist who loves hiking and flowers, I was thrilled to get the chance to "field test" this wonderful guide to Colorado's high mountains. It is organized by elevation so you can follow spring up higher as summer progresses. It clearly states the hike length, the terrain, the location, gives directions AND best of all - lists what flowers you will see! I found this book to be an extraordinary guide to the region and it helped me tailor my vacation and plan my hikes. The photos of the mountain scenery were very good and the close ups of the flowers were terrific. I think I actually bumped into the author on a hike (I recognized her from the photo in the back!). Terrific book!

Comparison of Twelve Technical Trading Systems
Published in Paperback by Traders Pr (June, 1990)
Authors: Louis Lukac, Scott Irwin, and Wade Brorsen
Average review score:

If you found this paper then you should buy it :-)
This is an academic paper written by a current practitioner. Lukac works with Jack Schwager of Wizard fame at Wizard Trading. It is a good paper that like the title says goes over 12 trading systems. He does a few MA crossovers, two of Wilders systems Parabolic and Directional Movement, some Channel Breakouts and variations, and a few other systems. At the time (1984 I think)it was probably fairly groundbreaking. Now it is a useful book but nothing that most heavy Tradestation users don't already know.

Country Music: The Encyclopedia
Published in Hardcover by St. Martin's Press (November, 1997)
Authors: Irwin Stambler and Grelun Landon
Average review score:

Authoritative and informative source for country music info.
I'm not a huge fan of country music, but I found this encyclopedia, with its many interviews and interesting tidbits, to be a fascinating read. The author seems to have amazing access to many of the most prominent country music stars and fills his accounts with witty accounts of the stars' lives. In short, I recommend this book highly.

This book is a must have for any dermatology office. It's easy to find various diseases, and the descrptions of indications and treatment are logical and relevant. The best thing about this book is its ease of use. Read this book, use this book. It's AMAZING- makes you think more than Dead Man Walking, Boys Don't Cry, and so on. In our society, it is very important that this kind of educational material is read.

The Doctor's Quick Weight Loss Diet Cookbook,
Published in Hardcover by David McKay Co (April, 1972)
Author: Irwin Maxwell. Stillman
Average review score:

Find This Gem If You Can
When I was a student ballerina in the 1970s, even a small weight gain could be devestating. The dumb ones practiced bulemia...the smart ones went on Stillman's. This diet was as much a part of our life as morning practice...and weigh-ins.

Dr. Stillman has produced a very readable and inspirational account of how he developed the diet and his patient's results. He also discusses the serious health effects that can develop through serious overweight.

There are other interim diets listed that one can use to take a break from the Stillman diet and still lose weight, then go back on Stillman's.

Dr. Stillman suggests you discuss this or any diet with your physician before trying it. He also cautions against drinking less than 80 oz. of water per day, smoking prior to 1 hour after meals, etc. Then explains, in layman's terms, why.

I wish this book would come back in print; it was very enjoyable and helped me to realize my dream of dancing, as well as counteracting those sleepy pasta Sundays at Nana's house. Be advised before you get this book that this is NOT a long term diet. This book means just what it says, it's Quick Weight Loss and a second (or third, or fourth) chance to get back to your normal weight before it's too late and stay there.

The Dow Jones Irwin Guide to Using the Wall Street Journal
Published in Hardcover by Business One Irwin (January, 1990)
Authors: Michael B. Lehmann and Dow Jones-Irwin
Average review score:

Best book on understanding markets
As a lawyer with an MBA and CFP I have read dozens of books on markets and investing. This is the best book anywhere on not only learning how to read the WSJ but on understanding the way markets work. It manages to explain often complex topics with layman's ease. It walks you through every part of the financial section of WSJ carefully, completely, and clearly. There are companies outthere that specialize in finding out of print books. Do yourself a favor and find this book, it is worth it. Or I can sell you my copy for $1000.
